Talabatey 10th Anniversary

Since the Establishment of Talabatey in July 2016, We Had a Very Clear Vision: To Be the Leader in Food Delivery in Iraq and to Dominate the Market in This Sector in the Future.

After 10 years, Talabatey has not only become the top player in food delivery but has also started expanding horizontally into additional services. We have established services like hypermarkets and cloud kitchens, provided logistics solutions for businesses, and supported digital transformation for individuals. Our vision for the coming years is to make Talabatey an everyday app for everyone.

Part of Talabatey’s vision is to be a sustainable company that doesn’t rely on external funding for operations or growth. Indeed, Talabatey reached break-even early on and has maintained both growth and profitability. In the first quarter of 2022, order growth exceeded 200% year-over-year, with a net profit margin of 20%. This success is attributed to several key factors:

Balanced Cost Management: All of Talabatey's more than 500 employees (excluding drivers) are locals across all specializations.

Expansion Across Iraq’s 18 Provinces: From the beginning, Talabatey has been committed to expanding into all provinces. Recently, Talabatey began expanding into districts and sub-districts, currently covering more than ten districts, with a short-term plan to cover all.

In-house Development of Operations and Systems: All operations, systems, and applications are designed, developed, and implemented internally to be highly suitable for restaurant owners, drivers, and Iraqi employees. This has resulted in complete harmony across all operations, with significant development occurring almost daily across most systems.

Leadership in Service Expansion: Talabatey was the first to establish cloud markets, later evolving them into a hybrid model between cloud and traditional markets. Currently, Talabatey operates four major markets in Baghdad alone, set to expand to eight soon. The cloud kitchens, which will soon be operational and include more than 10 diverse kitchens, will be the first cloud kitchen model in Iraq, exclusively available on Talabatey.

Creating an Ideal Work Environment: Talabatey has three main headquarters, each covering 2,000 square meters in Baghdad, equipped with all the essentials for a comfortable working environment. The company has also designed its own systems, with a secondary office in each province and dedicated facilities for drivers, bringing the total number of Talabatey offices to over 30 across Iraq, catering to employee needs.

Finally, Talabatey’s message today is that local companies and talents can offer advanced services in all fields, including technology, and compete with global companies.
